Food Friday – Pumpkin Chili

As the fall approaches and the leaves change we get in the mood for our warm food favorites. Fall marks the chili season with football parties and pot lucks. Chili is a tailgate favorite, but pumpkin chili? Oh yes! It’s a flavor rush for the pallet. So next time you pull out the pot and your chili fixin’s, try this seasonal recipe instead.





Original recipe makes 8 servings


  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook beef until brown; drain. Stir in onion and bell pepper and cook 5 minutes. Stir in beans, tomato juice, diced tomatoes and pumpkin puree. Season with pumpkin pie spice, chili powder and sugar. Simmer 1 hour.
